Artificial photosynthesis: A chance, not a challenge.

Artificial photosynthesis is a chance, not a challenge.

I said so some time in summer 2012. I first wrote it down in our paper “In rust we trust“, which was received by EES/RSC on 1st October 2012. What I mean is that the technical challenges are typically mentioned, even highlighted. The challenge to meet efficiency mile stones. The challenge to meet cost requirements. The challenge of achieving long lasting systems with little degradation and long life time. These challenges are not different from many and most other fields of technology.

What matters is the sustainability. Sustainability, which artificial synthesis can bring by using solar energy for solar fuels. The power of the sun for renewable energy and sustainable development.
